Branding, templates, and invoice numbering

Billune ships with five editorial-grade templates and gives you fine-grained control over accent color, logo, footer, and how your invoice numbers look.

A good invoice is a piece of brand collateral, not a receipt. Every template in Billune is designed around that principle — typography, spacing, and structural hierarchy chosen so the final PDF wouldn't look out of place in a design portfolio.

Your brand controls three levers on top of the template layout: the **logo**, the **accent colour**, and the **footer** (address / tax IDs / contact). These are set once per user and cascade to every invoice automatically. Per-invoice overrides are still available in the Branding tab of the invoice builder if you need a one-off change.

    Five templates, one click

    Every invoice's Branding tab shows the template picker. Modern is a clean asymmetric layout, Classic is centered and traditional with a double-rule underneath, Minimal is text-first with a huge invoice number as the focal point, Bold is high-contrast with a full-bleed colored header bar, Wave uses SVG curves with a circular logo badge and a dark 'Total due' bar. All five render the same fields — you're picking a visual system, not losing functionality.

    Accent color

    Below the template picker is the accent color input. It drives the invoice number, section headings, totals rule, and Pay button color in every template. Type a hex or use one of the AI-generated palettes from AI Studio. Change it any time — the change applies to the current invoice on save, and any future invoice you create.

    Logo

    Your logo is set in Settings → Branding OR by clicking Apply on any AI Studio-generated logo. It appears in the top-left of every template (or top-centre for Classic; inside the circular badge for Wave). Use a square PNG with a transparent background for best results — Wave in particular crops to a perfect circle so a wide horizontal wordmark won't fit cleanly.

    Invoice footer

    In the invoice builder → Branding tab, set a per-invoice footer — this is where your business address, VAT/GST number, and support contact go. It renders below the totals in every template. If you always use the same footer, save it as your default in Settings → Business Profile → Default footer.

    Invoice number prefix

    Settings → Invoice numbering → set a prefix like HAL- and Billune auto-numbers new invoices as HAL-0001, HAL-0002, etc. Existing invoices are untouched. If you're migrating mid-year and want to continue from HAL-0043, set the starting number to 43 too.

    Header-fill toggle

    In the invoice builder → Branding tab, the Filled table header toggle controls whether the items table header row is filled with your accent color (default) or plain with a coloured bottom rule (subtler). Some accents look great filled (bold neon green, black); others look better as an underline (soft cream, pale blues). Toggle to compare in the live preview.

    Saved styles as templates

    When AI Studio's Generate Style produces something you love, tick Save as default template so every new invoice you create inherits that accent + template + footer without you having to re-set them. Premium plans additionally unlock the Precision Template Studio, where saved structural designs appear as new options in every invoice's template picker.
